What is Platelet Rich Fibrinogen (PRF) ?

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) Therapy is an advanced, non-surgical regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own healing properties to restore volume, improve skin quality, and stimulate natural collagen production. Like PRP, PRF is completely autologous, meaning it is derived entirely from your own blood, making it a safe, natural option with minimal risk of allergic reaction.

PRF is often referred to as the “next generation” of PRP. However, unlike PRP, PRF is processed without anticoagulants or additives. This allows a fibrin matrix to form, a delicate gel scaffold that slowly releases growth factors over time. Because of this sustained release, PRF continues working in the treated area for longer, promoting gradual and natural-looking rejuvenation.

Platelets and white blood cells within PRF release powerful growth factors that help:

  • Stimulate collagen and elastin production

  • Improve skin thickness and texture

  • Enhance circulation

  • Support tissue regeneration

  • Reduce inflammation

PRF for Under Eyes: A Natural Alternative to Dermal Filler

PRF is particularly popular for treating the delicate under-eye area, especially for patients seeking a natural alternative to traditional dermal fillers.

Under-eye concerns such as:

  • Hollowing (tear trough deformity)

  • Dark circles related to thinning skin

  • Fine lines

  • Volume loss

These concerns can be improved with PRF by stimulating your body’s own regenerative response rather than placing synthetic volume.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, PRF does not simply “fill” the area. Instead, it works gradually to thicken the skin, improve tone, and restore lost volume over time. Because it is 100% natural and free from additives, PRF carries no risk of vascular occlusion and no risk of filler-related migration.

Results appear progressively over several weeks as collagen production increases, creating a softer, refreshed, and more youthful appearance.

Combining PRF with other treatments

PRF can be combined with other treatments for maximum results. We routinely combine PRF with Polynucleotides; while both treatments are regenerative, they work in slightly different yet complementary way.

PRF & Rejuran i

PRF is derived entirely from your own blood, making it 100% autologous. It releases growth factors gradually over time, stimulating collagen and elastin production, improving circulation, supporting tissue repair, and helping to thicken thin under-eye skin. Rejuran I, on the other hand, is made from highly purified polynucleotides that stimulate fibroblast activity, enhance skin elasticity and hydration, strengthen the skin barrier, and reduce fine lines and crepey texture. When combined, PRF delivers powerful biological growth factors and gives volume, while Rejuran I provides structural cellular stimulation, working together to enhance collagen remodelling and improve overall skin resilience more effectively than either treatment alone.

PRF FAQ’s

Is PRF a filler?

No. PRF is not a Dermal Filler. It does not create instant volume like hyaluronic acid fillers. Instead, it stimulates your body’s own collagen production to gradually improve skin thickness, texture, and volume loss over time. PRF does not have the same side effects that Dermal Fillers do.

Is PRF safe?

Yes. PRF is 100% autologous, meaning it comes from your own blood. Because no synthetic substances or additives are used, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is extremely low.

Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is usually applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. Most patients describe the procedure as very tolerable.

How many treatments and how often is this therapy needed?
While responses to treatment vary, most people will require 1-2 sessions. Each set of treatments are spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have. Your practitioner will determine your treatment protocol according to your skin condition.

How long do results last?

Results vary depending on individual factors such as age, skin quality, and lifestyle. Improvements can last 6–12 months, and ongoing treatments help maintain collagen stimulation.

Is there any downtime?

PRF is minimally invasive. Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising can occur, particularly in the under-eye area, but typically resolves within a few days.

When will I see results?

Results develop gradually. Most patients begin noticing improvement within 3–4 weeks, with continued enhancement over several months as collagen remodelling occurs.
